Training

Someday Ranch is proud to say, that we are one of the only ranches left,  which still allows our  horses to run and graze freely before and after lessons, on several open acres. We encourage our horses to run wild, rear and play with each other on a daily basis. This makes for a calmer and happier horse. Our training methods are very different from others. We believe the horse should come first before the owner or client. Without respect and understanding for the horse all is lost in training. We also believe that every owner should be trained along with their horse. This takes away from any problems that may occur later with riders not giving proper commands. With time, respect and understanding any rider can have a picture perfect horse no matter how wild it started out as.

Unfortunately most horses that have behavior problems, are from prior owners giving wrong commands or not understanding how to properly handle or correct a horse. All this can be fixed with a little time and understanding. Here at Someday Ranch training is never rushed in thirty or sixty days. It takes several days for a horse to settle in to a new place, surroundings and people. Time and a kind but strong training hand and understanding of how our friend the horse works , makes for the best ride.

I thought I had a bad horse, until you showed me I was giving mixed signals to my poor horse without even knowing it! Amy

Abused horses

Ray & Chantel have spent many years not only saving, but working with abused horses and dogs. Abused horses can become your friend of a lifetime, if you have the patience and the time. They have turned several of their rescue horses into lesson horses for children and special needs students. They also have incorporated this part of their training into some riding lessons and other programs , so that the public can stop the cycle of abuse against horses. Chantel's main passion in life is teaching children today how to care for and understand the horse for tomorrow. Without  their help and knowledge the abuse chain cannot be broken and several horses will be left to this cruel fate. Shown in this picture is Chantel's first abused horse she purchased Abe. Who she has had now for ten years, he will be celebrating his 37th Birthday this summer at the ranch. When Chantel found Abe his skin was hanging off his body and he had been beaten by his previous owner with shovels and bats. Now he is the life and heart of Someday Ranch. There has not been a client step foot on this ranch that has not fallen in love with this amazing horse. Stop by and meet Abe and see what makes him stand out from all other horses!

Problem Solving

Often riders find their horses have several different problems and the owner is unable to fix these problems. At Someday Ranch we will take the time to watch you and your horse in action, than evaluate both rider and horse. This will help you as the rider and owner understand each and every problem, whether it is caused by the horse out of anger, pain or poor manners, or possibly the rider unaware of bad or incorrect riding commands and balance. We will teach each rider how to properly handle and correct  bad behavior and problems without causing more problems in the future. Save time and money now instead of later, learn from our trainers and become the teacher today for your horse. Our goal is to increase the pleasure of the ride for both you and your horse!

A horse can not learn what you want,                                                                                                                                  if you do not take the time to show them.

Trust, loyalty and bonding does not come easy.

You must give it, and then earn it from your horse.

Someday Ranch and its family members join together and give back to the community.  Naydeene organized a "Christmas drive" and help put together 43 care boxes to be sent overseas to our soldiers in need. Someday Ranch has held and organized several  "Saddle Up and Ride" trail rides, for St. Judes Children's Hospital. This was the first time this event was held in Brentwood, at Round Valley park. The ranch raised over $4000 dollars for the children, on the very first outing. We also donate yearly to "Grad Night" at Freedom High School and Liberty High School. We collect and donate large bags of toys to  help in the "Christmas Toy Drive" for Knightsen and many other events.  Our Jr. Drill Team put on a performance  for the "East Contra Costa Historical Society", where they were a huge hit! Clients have come together to make and prepare gift boxes for our troops overseas at Christmas. These are just a few ways Someday Ranch has helped  the community.
